Imagine needing to teach your students how to use technology as a tool and yet your students cannot access the Internet. How can a teacher provide online collaboration experiences, but are not able to use Google Documents or Microsoft 365. How do you implement Mastery when your Internet access is minimal? We “Swing for the Fences” and provide our students the tools that they need for their next adventure after K – 12 education or back in their home school. As administrators’ for the Juniper Hills High School, the accredited high school in our Juvenile Correction Centers, it is important that we provide similar technology training to our students so that they can compete with other people their same age. We will share how we are providing technology education in a locked down situation. Our students have access to laptops, but limited access to the Internet. While public schools are not in a locked down facility, some of the districts may struggle with Internet access. We would like to share how we provide a strong technology program with minimal Internet access. Our students leave our program graduating with a high school diploma, GED certificates, Microsoft Certifications, college credits, and NCCER certifications.
