Moving from Apprentice to Master: Using the Right Tools for the Job

When starting the journey of integrating technology in the classroom, it is easy to become sidetracked by new digital tools or overwhelmed by the task of creating opportunities for students to move away from pen-and-paper. In this workshop, participants will use an activity systems model to examine the three layers of activity – what, how, and why – and revise an existing assignment. By reflecting on the “how,” participants will be able to select appropriate digital tools for a task, offer student choice, and promote reflective transfer.
